Aim and Scope

JAAWGE is a peer-reviewed research journal devoted to advancing scholarship and praxis related to African American women and girls in education. JAAWGE is devoted to the study of African American female research throughout the educational pipeline (P-20), in various contexts (e.g., urban, STEM, policy/law, spirituality, assessment, community partnerships, professional development, etc), and across various disciplines (e.g., Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Counseling, and the like). The JAAWGE is the sister journal to the Journal of African American Males in Education (JAAME).

We accept the following types of manuscripts for publication in JAAWGE: (1) Empirical research (Qualitative, Quantitative, Mixed Methods), (2) Theoretical or conceptual papers, and (3) Theory to Practice.
