JAAWGE is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to advancing scholarship and practice on African American women and girl in education. JAAWGE is devoted to the study of African American female research throughout the educational pipeline (P-20), in various contexts (e.g., elementary, secondary, middle grades, urban, suburban, rural), and in multiple capacities (e.g., students, teachers, faculty, staff, administrators, Black girlhood, motherhood). This journal publishes manuscripts that use empirical, theoretical, and practitioner-based content that integrates theory with practice in schools.
We encourage manuscripts that use empirical data, are theoretical or conceptual, and that are practitioner based.
